Our restaurant Zlata Praha - Golden Prague was established in 1993 in Astoria, New York. It was proudly named after the Capital of the Czech Republic, signifying the beauty of this old city, with its hundreds of golden steeples, shining over Prague.

Zlata Praha was founded and created by chef/owner George Suchanek. This authentic Czech-Slovak experience has a world wide reputation for serving the ultimate variety of homemade dishes, prepared the old fashioned way - hearty and delicious.George Suchanek proclaims his restaurant, Zlata Praha, to be "The only Czech and Slovak restaurant in New York City." Amazingly, he is right. Filling a European vacuum, Zlata Praha is awash in ethnic color.

The best quality full bodied beer around! Upon entering you pass a busy bar, boasting plenty of Czech, Slovak and German beer on tap and in bottles. Look for Pilsner Urquell, Staropramen and Kozel among others. The walls in the bar area are covered with pictures of Czech and Slovak singers and entertainers who appear here from time to time. The dining room is brightly lit and decorated with traditional folk costumes, old currency and pictures of Prague, the Capitol of the Czech Republic.
Our establishment has experienced a lot of laughter, singing and story telling. Our patrons make our restaurant a meeting place for a good time. So come and join us for food, drinks and good old fun.
